MOVING SUN RETREAT:
From Sweat to Sunrise — A Journey of Return
A chance to go back to yourself
Step away from the noise and into the forest
Come be with others — not just side by side, but truly together. This is a space to slow down, to breathe, to move, and to remember.
To remember that we are nature — by being in nature.
To honor the elements through sacred ritual, like the Temazcal.
To express your truth — in voice, in dance, in silence.
To reconnect with what truly matters:
presence, love, and the courage to be seen.
In a world that often pulls us into separation and overwhelm,
this weekend is an invitation to come back —
to yourself, to the earth, to each other.
Our VISION
Moving Sun was born from a longing — a longing for togetherness, for grounding, and for spaces that honor the body, the earth, and the sacredness of human connection.
We gather here in Mönchwinkel, just outside Berlin, to remember that healing doesn’t need a plane ticket. It happens in the forest, by a fire, among strangers who become companions.
We hold space for ritual, especially the Temazcal, as a way to return to our essence — through heat, prayer, silence, and song. We invite you to express yourself freely: in movement, in stillness, in your voice, or even in a quiet presence.
We believe that the body knows — it holds your truth, your emotions, your stories. This retreat is about trusting that. It’s about sharing who you are — through dance, words, tears, laughter, or a song you bring to the fire.
✨ Please feel welcome to bring a song, a prayer, or just your whole self — exactly as you are.✨
Our vision is to create a rooted, honest community just outside the city — in contrast to the pace and pressure of Berlin, where the party scene, constant stimulation, or isolation can sometimes leave us feeling disconnected and alone.
Here, we make space to slow down, to reconnect with the elements — the water of the Spree, the sacred fire, the wind in the trees, the earth beneath your feet — and with each other.
Together, we want to remember what it means to belong —
to return to the heart of being human: being together, giving, receiving, and being part of something real.
To be seen — in your movement, your voice, your stillness. To allow yourself to be witnessed just as you are. And in return, to witness others — to follow, to hold space, to listen. In the dance, in the circle, around the fire, you will be seen, you will be heard, and your presence will matter.
Transformative Dance
Transformative Dance also known as Free Form Movement is a body-based practice that invites you to reconnect with the innate wisdom of your body. Rather than following choreography or fixed steps, this approach encourages you to move intuitively — listening deeply to the sensations, emotions, and impulses that arise from within.
It’s not about how it looks — it’s about how it feels.
This session is designed as a guided journey into your own movement language. It includes invitations for personal exploration and may involve exercises in pairs or small groups — where you might lead or follow, mirror another person, or move in synchrony with a group. The music takes you through a wave of different rhythms: from slow and meditative to wild and expressive.
There is space for playfulness, emotional release, stillness, and connection. Depending on the group, the practice may include moments of touch — or intentional untouching — always with care and consent. You’re invited to show up just as you are, and move from exactly where you are.
Whether you’re new to this or familiar with conscious dance, this is a space to let go of expectations and come home to your body.
Rebirth in Mother Earth’s Womb
temazcal / SWEAT LODGE
At Moving Sun Retreat, the Sweat Lodge is a sacred journey of rebirth in Mother Earth’s embrace, guided by Roby, who carries blessings from the Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan lineage. Rooted in Indigenous traditions of the Americas, this ceremony invites you into a womb-like space where volcanic stones—our ancient grandmothers—release healing steam that purifies body, mind, and spirit.
More than just a sweat, it’s a shared ritual of transformation. In the warmth and darkness, we sing, pray, and reconnect—shedding the old to make space for the new. Whether you seek clarity, release, or simply a deep breath of presence, the Temazcal offers a return to your essence. Step into the steam, and let yourself be reborn with joy, depth, and a whole lot of heart.

ROBY
They/Them
Roby is a Two Spirit soul whose path bridges the ancient and the modern, carrying the soaring essence of the Andean condor and the deep-rooted wisdom of their Chilean ancestry. As a Sun and Spirit Dancer walking the Camino Rojo, Roby is a devoted guardian of Native American traditions, holding sacred rituals with reverence, joy, and fierce compassion. Initiated into the Fuego Sagrado de Itzachilatlan in 2019, their journey includes 13 days of Vision Quest, six years of ceremonial learning, and the sacred responsibility of carrying the Chanupa (Sacred Pipe).
Rooted in both ancestral traditions and holistic spirituality, Roby's path began with yoga, meditation, and mindfulness practices outside dogmatic institutions. They became a Reiki Master in 2013, and in 2019, earned their Yoga Alliance-certified teacher degree. That same year, they began walking deeply with the medicine path—guided by the teachings of plant medicines and the Temazcal.
Today, Roby holds space for healing through Sweat Lodges in Berlin, as well as Cacao, Rapé, and Tobacco Ceremonies, singing circles, and sacred embodiment practices. As a circle keeper, DEI facilitator, and ritual artist, they invite each participant to reconnect with their inner truth, awaken joy, and remember the sacred magic that lives within.
Nourishing body, mind and soul
food
We believe that food is sacred medicine, and that sharing a meal is one of the most ancient ways to build community. Throughout the retreat, we’ll nourish ourselves with fresh fruits and vegetables, lovingly prepared vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options to suit a variety of needs and sensitivities.
On Saturday, you'll enjoy a light breakfast, an afternoon spread of wholesome snacks, homebaked cake and a heartwarming dinner—all crafted to support your movement, presence, and joy.
On Sunday, after emerging from the Sweat Lodge, we invite everyone to join in a potluck-style feast—a co-created offering of food and love. Together, we’ll prepare and share a meal that celebrates connection, gratitude, and the spirit of togetherness.

Our Sanctuary in the Forest
Forest Sanctuary
The Moving Sun retreat takes place in a peaceful green oasis in Mönchwinkel, surrounded by forest, meadows, and birdsong. There’s a spacious garden with plenty of beautiful spots to pitch your tent — already included in the ticket price.
If you’re looking for extra comfort, we offer a glamping option: a large tent that can be shared (up to four people) or enjoyed as a cozy private space for two — whether as a couple or with a friend. Just let us know what you prefer.
Our Forest Sanctuary lies right next to the Spree (perfect for a refreshing dip!), and the beautiful Störitzsee lake is just a 20-minute walk away — ideal for your free time.
Getting Here AND Accessibility
Our retreat space is nestled in nature — about 3.5 km from Hangelsberg station, which you can reach via the RE1 regional train, running hourly from Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Ostbahnhof, and Ostkreuz.
From the station, you have a few options to reach us:
- Walk through the beautiful countryside (approx. 40–45 minutes)
- Use one of our guest bikes (we have 4 available — let us know in advance if you'd like to reserve one)
- Join a car pickup at 9:40 — please sign up ahead of time so we can coordinate smoothly
⚠️ Important: Please don’t rely on Google Maps for train schedules or directions — the info there is often outdated or incorrect.
Instead, check the latest updates via the BVG app or bahn.de to make sure you get accurate travel info.
Unfortunately, the space is not wheelchair accessible. If you're unable to bike or walk, we’re happy to arrange a ride from the station — just reach out in advance.
Facilities AND What to Expect
This is an eco-conscious retreat held in a lovingly maintained garden and forest space.
You'll find:

One day without a shower can be a gentle return to the essentials — and your skin will love the fresh air!
